Software Engineer Career

Who am I?

I am a senior Research Engineer at a top IT company. During my job search. I had a lot of phone and
on-site interviews with start-up, top IT companies, and research labs, and finally got two offer letters.
These days, I frequently conduct interviews with candidates for my team. I also have been helping my
friends to prepare technical interview. My coach turns out to be very helpful. They got offer from Google,
Yahoo, etc. So, I am in a pretty good position to explain how to conduct efficient job search and prepare
programming interview.
This site is about how to secure programming jobs

I created this site to share my knowledge with potential programming job applicants, especially the one
who doesn't have much interview experience. You may not do well in the first few interviews. But don't
be disappointed. This does not mean that you are not qualified. You are not just well prepared yet. So,
keep positive attitude. Use every resources (including your network, interview tips on the Web) available
to you, and of course, keep doing preparation for interview. Job search is mainly composed of three steps:

Application package preparation (resume, cover letter and opening search)
Preparing and conducting phone/onsite interview
Closing job search

will guide you each step, however, this site is not an exhaustive guide. For example, I am not covering every single question you will meet in actual interviews, but you can save significant amount of time and
efforts by absorbing as much information as possible from this site, because all the information stated here
are based on my real job search experience. I believe everything here is accurate, but you should use this
site at your own risk.
Must buy books for programming interview

Programming Interview Exposed: Secrets to Landing your Next Job. This book is very useful for
programming interview preparation, but it's not an exhaustive guide. For example, it doesn't cover
many C++/Java or algorithm questions. But, it gives you an idea about what kind of questions are
asked, how you can communicate with interviewers, etc.
How would you Move Mount Fuji? Microsoft's Cult of the Puzzle: How the World's Smartest
Company Selects the most Creative Thinkers. This book is useful for preparing brainteaser
questions. Brainteaser questions (aka puzzle) is popular in technical interview, so at least one
question can be asked in on-site interview.
